Jaunted: Australia's Other Wine Regions, Yarra Valley

Another day, another Australia piece on Jaunted. Though this one--the first in a mini-series this week on the site--actually covers one of the wine regions I visited on my big trip there last May (2010) rather than the one I just took in April.

The series is called "Australia's Other Wine Regions," and takes a look at some of the country's other premier wine-producing areas that sometimes get shunted into the shadow of that Shiraz powerhouse, the Barossa.

So for today, we travel to the little Yarra Valley, just outside Melbourne in Victoria, for a taste of some of Australia's best cooler climate wines like Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir, though there's also a bunch of Shiraz, in case you're a devotee.

Check out my picks for where to drink, eat, and sleep at the link below.
